Takes about 20 minutes (fast pace) one way to get to the Tor (the quickest route up). It's a fairly steep climb if you're not used to hiking, but worth it.

Iconic landmark dominating the surrounding countryside, a must if you visit Glastonbury. Reputed to be the Isle of Avalon and focus of many esotric groups. Walk the labyrinth around the Tor for magic.

Also check out Chalice Well where the mystical waters flow, Glastonbury High St where there's an amazing array of shops and cafes, and the ruins of Glastonbury Abbey at the bottom of the High St.

Great route- sport-, historically-, touristically wise. Will take you an hour from the Glastonbury downtown to Tor and back.

The original church was destroyed by an earthquake before being rebuilt. The tor was the site of execution of the last Abbot of Glastonbury who was hung, drawn & quartered for remaining loyal to Rome.

A steep climb to the top of the Tor; but magnificent views of the surrounding countryside
